Ragdolls are large, loving, very relaxed semi longhaired felines which
have beautiful big deep blue eyes.

The Ragdolls were developed in the 1960’s by Ann Baker. A breeder from
California. who bred Josephine, a loving, gentle, semi longhaired white
female carrying Siamese markings, to other semi longhaired cats
carrying Siamese markings. By selecting individuals with the look she
wanted for her breeding program, she created the type standard for the
Ragdoll.
The Ragdoll's body is light-colored, with darker Siamese-type points on
the face, ears, tail and legs.
Ragdolls have a very soft coat that comes in a variety of pointed
shades including seal, chocolate, blue and lilac. Ragdoll cats can have
mitted paws or bicolor shading with an upside-down "V" pattern of white
on the face, as well as a white chest, belly and legs.
Males may reach about 15 Kg or more; Females are proportionately
smaller.
Ragdolls are slow-maturing, reaching full coat color in about two
years, and full size and weight in about four.
Ragdolls love their humans; they follow us around the house and love
sleeping with us as well.
They
are gentle felines who carefully avoid scratching people, and are
usually very good with children, elderly people, and dogs – as you can
see:
The Ragdolls are not "Fighter" cats and they view any on comer as a
loving entity and because of that, they must be strictly indoor cats.
The Ragdolls are very energetic and playful cats; Ragdolls Kittens can
entertain you for hours with a catty playful behavior while chasing
their own tail or flies etc.
Ragdolls were named for their tendency to flop like rag dolls when
picked up; they enjoy being held like a baby.
